Obnoxious Hero-Kun is a satirical take on a classic BL full of clichés, overused tropes, fourth wall breaks, and jokes about the genre. The first half of the story is slow and there were multiple extra comics I didn’t feel were necessary.

The jokes can be funny, but don’t land or come across dry about half the time. The extra comic at the end showing their lives after the events of the main story is adorable and was definitely a saving grace.

The author was definitely lazy with the story building and only focused on the romance and spice. She even makes self-deprecating jokes about her laziness throughout, but I found that annoying. It would have been easier to flesh out the story than to joke about how lazy you are.
