This was a perfect example of loving and hating a book simultaneously.
This is a fantastic character study on womanhood and body autonomy - but told from the perspective a robot that was built to essentially be the ‘perfect’ girl friend.
This is also a really interesting introspective of robots, AI, and the likes.
I can’t really adequately explain why I feel the way I do about the book. Even though the main character is a robot, I highly suggest checking trigger warnings as there were some scenes regarding abuse that were a bit difficult to read, even knowing that it wasn’t a ‘person’. I will say that I felt like this would have maybe be better as a novella, as it was a bit long and I’m not sure that all of the storyline was necessary.
Despite having less than a 4 star rating on here, I recommend checking it out as I think that it has potential and I’m curious to read additional works by this author in the future.
