Rumor Has It...
by Julia Cook
First off, that “Think before you speak” page towards the end is masterful, and should be available as a poster for classes (or just a message for our president). This book takes a bit of idea from the Pixar movie Inside Out. The rumor is a marble that is rolling around in people and causing problems. Big problems. The way this book is set up, is that the rumor is a character, who tells you why he’s good and why he’s bad. It also shows the destruction and misunderstandings that can take place because of a rumor. This book is a great lesson on rumors, and a bit on “fake media”. The tips at the end are great as well.
