The Dare by Elle Kennedy
4.0

ARC received for an honest review

Woohooooo we are back in Elle Kennedy's hockey hottie world, and I couldn't be happier!

It seems an age since we have been here!

I love a fake romance story - we always know that it is going to be real by the end, it is just the journey we are taken on that is the fun.

Conor and Taylor's tale is the typical frat/sorority dare and follow through to stick it to the person who makes the bet. I love the way Conor is all in from the start, and the spark and flirtations between the pair.

But gees, the thing that I wasn't such a fan of in this book was Taylor. I like the story just find, but I hated her "why is he with me blah blah blah" call the wambumlance stuff. I get it girl, I am no model thin woman either, but holy heck if I heard you one more time saying stuff to Conor about it, I was going to reach into my Kindle and slap some sense into you. He shows you over and over, and your insecurities were just OTT and ridiculous *rant over*

Conor also had his issues, but he eventually dealt with them like the (young) adult he is. However then he was all "she's too good for me" ridiculousness and I may have facepalmed!

It sounds like I didn't like this story, but that's not true. I did like it, I just disliked their stupidness at times. I guess that is also why I read very little NA these days, as I cannot deal with the immaturity of a lot of the NA characters, as I am an old fart!

But I would still read the takeaway menu if Elle Kennedy wrote it.

I loved seeing bits of the previous Briar U characters and where they are at now. I want more.
