A Throne of Swans
by Katharine Corr
If you love YA fantasy and/or retellings, make sure to read everything by these talented writers!
Yes,I'm gonna fangirl hard in this review, so brace yourselves.
This book is SO GOOD! It has everything you want from a YA fantasy retelling AND EVEN MORE because it is written by the Corr sisters so what did you expect? I expected nothing but excellence and I was not proven wrong!
There is nothing as soothing for the mind as a really good book! Although I have to admit, it is not good for the amount of sleep you get once you get hooked on this story!
Also, I loved that they took on The Swan Lake for a retelling. That has not been done very often. I love that it is done so well, I love the system and the world the Corr sisters created in this one. Also, for me it's really special to read about a character with the my name :) I'm not named after the girl from Swan Lake, but I'm deeply in love with the ballet.
And this cover. THIS COVER! It's shiny, it's so pretty. The shiny is also on the spine! I love that, because that way you see the prettiness when the book is on the shelves. Although I think all books from the Corr sisters are gonna end up front-faced on a special shelve in my bookcase...
Oh and I've got a edition with sprayed edged, in the same blue as the cover. That completes the look of the book so well! And my edition is signed as well *hearteyes* Also, have you seen the cover of the sequel!? It's so gorgeous as well! Cannot wait to see it IRL!
Also, Katharine and Elizabeth are such lovely, nice people. That really adds to the experience of reading a book as well in my opinion!
