Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins
5.0

4.5/5 stars

So, so cute! I have no idea what took me so long to check this book out! I mean it has everything I like in it... French AND English stuff. Check. Lovable main character. Check. Irresistible guy. Check.

Obviously I liked this one. A lot. It was such a cute, fun read! I didn't want to stop reading it! I loved the beginning. I loved the middle. I loved the end. I loved it all. You're probably thinking: If you loved it all so much Emily, then why only 4.5 stars? Well, I did find it a bit repetitive. Anna and Etienne fight a lot. I didn't like that about this book. I just wanted them to be happy together!!!! Other than that, I have a new favorite contemporary book!

Anna was my favorite character. If I was forced into her situation I would probably react a lot like she did throughout the ups and downs of the book. I did not like Bridge at all. What a bad best friend! Even after the apologies I was not happy with her! Etienne, oh Etienne... well I have a really huge crush on him. He is totally amazing!! He was always so sweet and charming! As I was reading I was imagining possible English accents and how he would sound... I obviously didn't like Ellie, or Toph either. Anna's new friends were good supporting characters and I wanted things to work out for them, too. The parents in this book were some of the worst ever. St. Clair's father is awful, and his mother's story made me want to cry. Anna's parents tried to be okay, but it wasn't working for them. I felt for Anna and Seany, too.

The story was really cute and a bit cheesy overall. But I still really enjoyed it. The setting was perfect for the story. I love books that take place in boarding schools! And in foreign countries! The romance was adorable. Etienne and Anna are the perfect pair! I was flying through this book and I only stopped to eat a meal. I normally don't read many contemporary novels, but I will be checking the other companion books out as well. I'm hoping that maybe we'll get hints about what's going on between Anna and St. Clair in Lola.

I really liked this book, and anyone in need of a really cute, really quick, contemporary romance please read this book if you haven't already. It took me long enough to read it so I know there are some of you out there that still haven't read this book yet.You definitely should!!
