I’ve now officially read everything by Alice Oseman 🤗 This was way different than I expected, although thinking about it, I should’ve known it was going to be super emotional and complex like all of Alice’s other books 🙈 As someone that’s always been a big part of fandom culture, I could understand Angel and how a band/show/person can become everything to you and while it can be a positive thing in your life, it can very quickly become toxic! I’m glad we got to see how toxic this can be on both sides, like obviously it can have a huge impact on the fans but people have to realize that famous people are still normal people and putting them on a pedestal the way we do is be extremely damaging to them as well! But I also loved that it touched on how important internet friendships can be and how finding people with the same interests as you can lead to real true friends ♥️ it wasn’t a full 5 stars because honestly, I wanted more after the conclusion of the story but also it gave me a bit of an existential crisis which sent me on a weird spiral 😅 but I did love it and would definitely recommend!
