The Outsider
by Stephen King
The premise was so intriguing, but unfortunately I was a bit disappointed in the overall execution of the story. There were a lot of "police transcript" sections and a lot of the characters sitting around talking about what happened, how it could have happened, and what they should do about it, rather than actually being in the moment. The ending did pick up the action and horror, and we do get to see a character from a different King series, but this wasn't really what I was hoping for. Also, it felt very long, which while true, is normally not how I feel when reading King novels.
