Astra Lost in Space, Vol. 1
by Kenta Shinohara
I'm pretty new to manga and I had heard nothing about this one, but I found it on sale and I've long enjoyed stories about kids or teenagers accidentally finding themselves in space (from the 80s movie Space Camp to the 2020 TV series The Astronauts) so I had to check it out.
It's a decent if unexceptional first volume. I liked that the teenagers had to find their own water and food, although arguably they achieved it a little bit too easily. The book did get more interesting as the story progressed, and the hints at a wider arc and possible villain leave me hopeful for an increase in quality in the other four volumes. I also discovered that there is an anime based on the series.
