That ending killed me. It is a huge cliffhanger, I can't wait for the next book to be released. I was worried this wasn't going to live up to the first book, but it was just as good but in different ways. It starts a little slow at first, and the plot doesn't quite pick up until the middle to end. At that point, I was very into the book.

I do wish there was more world-building, sometimes it is quite confusing. Another part I wish was talked about more was Lei's PTSD after the traumatic events of the first book. It was mentioned a little bit throughout the book, but I feel like there should have been a conversation with the characters.

I really liked seeing the growth in Lei and also seeing the flaws of other characters. We learn more about Wren and Hanno, and the whole revolution as well as travel in this world.
I was surprised to learn about Wren's lack of morals as well, but it was a little annoying to see Lei keep going back to her after these horrible things. I was confused to what their relationship was in the last 100 pages, and despite Lei calling Hannos (including Wren) an enemy, she goes back for Wren at the end. A lot of the relationships were underdeveloped and Bo's death didn't affect me as it should have.

The introduction of new characters was great as well. I loved most of the relationships that were built by the end and all of the plot twists throughout the book. It was less unpredictable and I absolutely loved that. I'm really excited to see how this is all concluded.
