Hell of a Book by Jason Mott
3.5
dark funny reflective fast-paced
Plot or Character Driven: Character
Strong character development: Yes
Loveable characters: Yes
Diverse cast of characters: Yes
Flaws of characters a main focus: Yes

A very good read that has a duo timeline of the character as a child and the character as an adult where he is a successful author. The narrator is unreliable because his strong imagination sometimes makes him see people that aren’t really there. The reader is never given the main characters name as we follow him to interviews and book signings. It was an enlightening look at the experience of Black Americans and the want to disengage from news and media because of the constant reports of murders and hashtags.
