This was my first book by Lucy Piper and I really enjoyed getting to know the characters as well as the world this series takes place in. While I am sure that the book would be even better if I had read previous books in the series and had more background knowledge of some of the other characters in this story it provided enough information to work as a standalone and I enjoyed getting to know Malcolm and Quinn as well as Quinn's daughter Hillary. The epilogue at the end was really fun and I look forward to reading more books from this series and author.
