Wonder Woman Vol. 4: War
by Brian Azzarello
Whoa, I dunno what I'm more shocked about. The fact I am LOVING a Wonder Woman series OR if I love a Azzarello book. Either way, I love both.
So Wonder Woman is still protecting Zola and her baby. At this point you'd think you would be bored of this type of storyline. However, The First is now tricked...or more, bought in to helping one of the gods against Wonder Woman and her crew. On top of that another god makes an attack to finish Zola and her baby off. What happens when the first come forward and decides to strike? Can Wonder Woman hold him off? Who is Orion and why is he so powerful? You find out a whole lot in this volume and you can't stop reading.
This intense, well plotted, solid dialogue, and great art really takes this series to a new place. While good at the start and building up, this volume takes the word EPIC and splashes it all over every page. From the fights, to the stakes, to the deaths, to the new hope. Everything is well crafted and done so well, I wanted more and more. This is a fantastic volume, one of the best wonder woman stories I've read, and I need more now.
A 5 out of 5.
