This book was amazing! While this this isn’t the kind of thing I would normally read I decided to try this and I loved it. It’s the kind of book where it is easy to forget it’s fictional and was written by a real person because the story is so magical.

Plot: The idea for this book was amazing. There were so many twists  and turns in the story. Even though I kind of guessed one of the major plot twists

(That the Hollow sisters in the book aren’t the original Hollow sisters)

it was written in a way that you could never quite be sure and you were always second guessing yourself.

I love how this story shows that sometimes the only thing more terrifying than a monster is realising that you are the monster.

The only thing I disliked about the plot of this book was there were a few things that never felt fully explained at the end which always annoys me.

Genre: This book has horrorish elements about it but it’s mainly a dark fantasy book with elements of fairytales and folk stories.

Characters: I loved the main character, Iris, in this book. She felt so real just like all the characters in this book. By the end of the book my opinion on most of the characters had changed from what it had been at the start of the book or the middle.

As the book went on Grey went from being the strong, brave older sister to a monster.

I think this mirrored the way Iris felt about the other characters as she uncovered the truth about her and sisters.
