Harrow the Ninth

adventurous

mysterious
slow-paced
This book was a wild ride. Another sci fi murder mystery meets necromancy meets emo kid meets tumblr but then with some timey wimey shenanigans and misdirections which make reading the book like solving a confusing puzzle you don’t know the rules of. It throws you off by a lot in the beginning, but it’s oh so satisfying when the pieces start falling into place.
A lot of old questions I had from the first book got answered, but now I have a whole new set of questions, that I hope get answered in the next book. I’m hooked on this unhinged series, and while I thought the graphic descriptions of bones, blood, fat and other tissues would get me gagging, it’s so well done that I’m just morbidly intrigued by it all. The thing I appreciate most is the humor, and I will never get over the left pizza none beef joke.
