My Favorite Half-Night Stand
by Christina Lauren
3.75ishhhhh.
I really enjoyed this for what it was - light, a bit cheesy, steamy and troupie. None of which are bad things at all. I have been reading a little more romance this year, and I am not mad about it ;)
I do especially like when books explicitly, yet casually, include safe sex and consent on the page. I think the more this is done, the more it is seen as a just 'part of' a physical encounter (which it is!), and not something that needs to be 'unsaid'. It needs to be said. It needs to be discussed. It needs to be explicit. It does *not* detract from the steaminess, or kill the mood - it is a part of the act and the more it is included in media, the more it is normalized. I really liked the inclusion of both in this book.
