Damn. This was amazing and gut-wrenching and devastating. I keep wavering between 4 stars and 5 stars. I'm going with 5 because I can't deduct points for that ending even if I wish it had been different. Don't read this if you can't read uninterrupted. Your emotions will be so tied up you'll snap if anything pulls you out of the book.

And I wouldn't classify it as YA. Yes, the main characters are young adult, but they are more grown up than many adults. The tone, theme and actions also felt more adult than YA to me too.
