Felix Ever After
by Kacen Callender
Felix will steal your heart with his beautiful, messy and vulnerable story.
I’m so glad I made the time for this book. This is the kind of story that desperately needs to be told. Felix is a black, queer and transgender teen looking for acceptance, exploring friendship and desiring to be loved. We navigate Felix’s journey with him as he questions his identity, struggles to find a label for who he feels he truly is and deals with transphobic attitudes.
I loved how honest this story was. Felix was flawed like most teens, struggling to figure out his place in this world, craving more but feeling unworthy. His journal to self acceptance was fraught with mistakes, introspection and ultimately self love. I highly recommend this book and hope we see more stories like this.
