This story was a lot of fun. No one really wants a chicken for their birthday, but this chicken is very special. It was sent by Abuela Lola and is a master of surprises. The story is simple, and repetitive, which is good. The illustrations are wonderfully colorful. I would however change the cover. The orange background behind the chicken is kind of boring compared to the chicken within the pages.
