I haven’t read first person book like this in a while so there was some getting used to. I didn’t really like the writing style in the beginning for the first couple chapters but I think was because the author tried a little too hard in describing everything at the beginning, past chapter 10 the story flowed more naturally and I enjoyed the book after that. I loved Alessandra’s relationships with all the characters and her view about sex and relationships for the “time period” it was set in. I understand that she and the king are supposed to be the villains in the story but it still kinda irked me what they thought needed to be done about the bandit. I thought the ending would be a little different and definitely didn’t expect
when he found the vial of poison in her draw, tbh I kinda forgot it was there, but I would’ve liked for the truth about the king’s brother to come out somehow during their wedding.
Idk I just really wanted a wedding scene after basically Alessandra being this fashion icon the entire book.
