I really wanted to like this book and but just couldn’t ever get fully into it. I did appreciate how it names some of the systemic oppression that exists in our society but the narration style and story kept me from liking the book as much as I wanted.

If you’re a music lover, and specifically into blues/other records and it’s history, you may enjoy this book.
