shannonreese 's review for:
It Starts with Us
by Colleen Hoover
Theo is my favorite character - he is going to be the best therapist one day. ;)
I bounced back and forth when going to rate this book, on one hand I felt it to be a 3, then a 4 for the sweet moments.. but I had to go with 3, it felt a little cash grabby for the repeated parts... I am also a little confused I suppose about the Lily, Ryle, Alyssa trio, the dynamic kept me a bit confused sometimes. I feel like I had some issues, that I found in myself, wanting Ryle to be good, and wondering why Lily didn't love him enough to help him... that's when I took a hard look at myself, and bumped the star to a 4.
If your partner doesn't make you feel safe, leave. It's not your job to fix them, they should care so much about you that they WANT to fix themself to be better for you.. Sorry for the review being a little different from what I usually write!
-PLOT: 2.8/5 (I can't explain this without spoilers..)
-SPICE: 2/5 (Listen, I am an Ice Planet barbarians kind of reader (iykyk!) BUT I will say the spice was a little bumped up from what I am used to reading from C.H. Spice is equivalent I feel to the ToG series.)
-EASE OF READ: 4.1/5 (There were a lot of repetitiveness it felt which got a little eye-rollie for me, but I could understand why it might need to be brough up.. most of the time LOL!)

I did NOT like Atlas' vows, it felt very off brand for him, but the PS at the end redeemed it for me LOL!
