Was it the best thriller? No. Was it a good thriller? Well, it felt predictable. It did have some really good twists. But they were overshadowed by loopholes and eye rolls. It got stretched and the writing was confusing, trying to be randomly poetic, then suddenly back to normal, maybe it was to show the state of mind of the person, I don't know. The characters seemed annoying and unreal, I couldn't empathise with the main character. I have a feeling the movie will be better than the book.
