I really liked this. I find books set in the "gold rush" area in the US and Australia very interesting, and I really like the general feel of westerns. I found this really engrossing and flew through it. I found Lucy and Sam to both be really believable as characters, and there was just a touch of surrealism/magical realism in the book, which I liked.
