Mango, Mambo, and Murder
by Raquel V. Reyes
This was a good debut! Miriam was a sweet character and I loved how she used food to express things - I got hungry a lot! I loved how the author used cuban cooking culture throughout this, it felt refreshing and interesting. All the good stuff aside, I didn't like the weird miscommunication trope. It was an odd subplot, it really had no bearing on the actual meat of the mystery, and tbh it just annoyed me. Also, the mystery was kinda easy to solve but I look forward to continuing this series!
