I’ll start by saying I loved Misery’s character. Her personality was great and I loved that she was strong and unafraid of asking for what she wants. 

I think I jumped into this book without really knowing what to expect. I did not care for Lowe’s character. I found him boring and bland.. embarrassing at times.

I found his and Misery’s relationship so rushed and predictable. One minute they were strangers and then the next Lowe had some deep obsession with her and Misery with him.. out of nowhere? The lack of build up didn't make sense to me. I guess you can make the argument that it was because of them being mates?.. But it was just falling flat for me.

I hated the unnecessary lying from Lowe about the truth of him and Misery. The drama didn't make sense in my head and just seemed really pointless.

And finally, knotting.. I'm sorry but when she first discovered "it" I was so confused that I immediately went to Google. The cliffhanger at the end of the chapter just annoyed me. And I didn't like the edition either. Lowe says "we aren't compatible" and here I was thinking that meant something other than how he really meant it. The scenting, marking, knotting was just too much for me. It was making me cringe. 

Overall, I discovered that this really was not my type of book. I was expecting Twilight meets The Serpent and the Wings of Night.. 

Loved the humor.. hated the romance.
