I have been wanting to read this book for a while because of that GORGEOUS cover. I knew nothing about it, but knew I had to read it. It helped that more and more friends were raving about it. It is inspired by true events, but a work of fiction. Civil is a main character and just out of nursing school. She is working at a family planning clinic and hoping to make a difference. Civil is a strong and courageous woman. Beautiful, but heart breaking story that stirred up a lot of emotion. This story will stay with me for a long time. Definitely one of my top reads for 2022.
