This was...needlessly long. Tediously over-descriptive with, let's just say way too many costumes changes 🙃😉
And not enough of the lesbians that were merely hinted at for 1 chapter and were never fully defined. They were also the only independent and active women roles. Every other woman was passive to the plights of their man!!
I understand why they have an abridged version though for the life of me I can't figure out how they can cut only 500 pages of 1300.
Seems to me the entire plot and book could have happened in under 400 pages total.
Overall, I only enjoyed about 20% of the book and was fighting sleep the rest of it.
