A bit of a slower start but the tension and chemistry between the two MCs (Lord Strange and Harriet, Duchess of Berrow) is scorching. I loved how Harriet got to pretend to be a man for a little while, and how Strange got to know her as a man, and how during that time he fell in love with her and was confused by his attraction to a man but still willing to remained curious about it rather than embrace a homophobic stance. Eloisa James does a lovely job as always with dialogue and there is a very precocious (and lovely) child in this one.
Graphic: Chronic illness, Sexual content, Grief, Injury/Injury detail
Moderate: Death, Suicide
