Even before I started reading CC I knew it was gonna end this way and yet it still hit me...bruh
Tbh, I still have no clue what the goal of the big bad guy was, half the characters introduced didn't do sh*t in the end, the mangaka created too big of a world/story for it to be completely unfolded and then wrapped up in 8 volumes.
Also, I feel like we didn't get to see enough of Chrno at the end he basically got up and left, this way we didn't even see the final match between him and Aion, that was a bit ehh the time jump came outta left field, like, end the plotline, mate.
Still got me in the feels, so Moriyama must've done something right, eh?
