Don't Turn Back
by D.S. Butler
A man is found bludgeoned in the woods and Detective Karen Hart is brought in to investigate. With long-held suspicions of a modern day slavery ring and police corruption, Karen starts to connect the dots while unearthing the ghosts of her past.
The story was fast paced and I felt that the characters had really interesting stories behind them. An easy read and enjoyable, however, there was just something missing for me and I think I would have liked a bit more information around the slavery ring.
While this was the third book in this series, I haven’t read the first two but didn’t see that as essential to the overarching story.
Thank you to D.S. Butler, NetGalley and Amazon Publishing for the ARC.
