Brutal Secrets: A Dark Mafia Second Chance Romance
by Raven Carlyle
I do not often dive into Mafia Romance, so when I got the chance to read this book, I was surprised that it had a completely different take on mafia romance. The story focuses on Vadim (MMC), a member of the Brava, Russian Mafia, and his chance meeting with pop star Kesera (FMC), singing in a Russian Nightclub. I do not want to spoil it, but they do end up leaving the club together. Then, after their initial meeting, the story jumps ten years when they happen to run into each other again. To me, the author focuses more on his committed 'family' to the Bratva and her family. This is not focused on Bratva and the lifestyle like a lot of mafia romances do. This book shows how each character struggles with the life they have, the life they want, and the obstacles of trying to find balance. It is told from a dual perspective, and the author's writing style is smooth and easy to read. Her ability to describe surroundings, people, and emotions makes you feel like you are with the characters. I would definitely recommend this book.
