4.5 stars. Well written and very easy to read and follow. There are so many lessons in this memoir. Lots of self reflection by the author, great representation of self care and how to be a respectful friend and partner. I am atheist yet the writing about Islam and the stories referenced were very intriguing and digestible. I identified a lot with the authors self sabotage and very much appreciate their efforts at working towards a more just and kind society. This book is excellent at making the reader feel what the author feels in terms of homophobia, Islamophobia, and & transphobia. I am so glad I chose to read this book and I am happily surprised at just how much it meant to me. I absolutely recommend reading this book.
