A Swing at Love by Caroline Bliss, Harper Bliss
4.25

A short, very sweet story.

As with some of Harper Bliss’ other stories of women coming out later in life, there seems to be a disconnect between the angst felt by the character, and then the total love and support they receive when they eventually do come out. However, while narratively it feels like a bit of a letdown (so much is built up and then goes nowhere), it is very sweet and also, hopefully, is encouraging to women facing this situation themselves.  Also true to life, at least in my experience of coming out as trans in my 30s!
