I really loved this book. We met Tilly in Mac’s book, Blindsided, since she’s Mac’s sister. But we really got to know her and what was going on with her life back then as well as now. Tilly had been a bit of a partier, and after an event that really caused her to see what she was doing to her life, she decided to take charge and take back her life. Now she is living with Mac and his wife Freya to help out while Freya is on bed rest from her pregnancy. And while she is staying there, of course, wouldn’t you know, she ran into Santino, who she’d had fun with in the past, but things had come to a head when the big event occurred.
Both of them have secrets and issues with not getting back together. But the attraction between them is still too much to ignore, and soon they give in. However all the things from their past as well as even some miscommunication or maybe just noncommunication between them and their friends and family could keep them from being able to figure out how to make things work.
I loved Santino and Tilly, even if a lot of Tilly’s excuses at first made me mad at her. And then I thought it was crazy to hold out on telling her brother as long as they did. But that all worked out in the end almost perfectly. And even when they were fighting, the not telling him about that worked out that he didn’t even have to know either! I also adored all the extra time we got with the Harris family and friends.
I was not happy with Santino when he kept trying to tell Tilly about his secret, but they kept getting interrupted. And then when she finally made time and asked him, he refused to tell her. Grr! I was so mad at him!
But you know what, we get a HUGE reveal in this book that I won’t spoil for anyone, although I’m sure you’ll find a spoiler in some review somewhere. All I know is now I need the next book! For the story we’ll be getting from this big secret that will have to come out.
