You Are Not Alone
by Greer Hendricks, Sarah Pekkanen
Despite owning their other books this is my first book by them that I’m actually reading.
The first part of the book I’m left very underwhelmed. I was bored. This was not thrilling nor did it feel psychological. The characters I felt like I was muddling them up. As they had aliases it made it harder at times. But I also didn’t care about them at all.
By the end of part one I had no idea where this was going. No idea why the sisters were acting the way they were. But I also barely cared to find out. I just hoped something would happen in part two.
Which sure enough something started to happen. Still nothing overly exciting but enough for me to see where things were going. But my theory still was underwhelming and disappointing if it went that way.
Which it did. The reveals in part three were so weak. One was obvious. The other sure I was surprised but it still made me feel disappointed.
The whole reason they went after Shay was pathetic. They could have just framed Amanda in a way that keeps them out of it. Going after Shay. Trying to make her look obsessed with Amanda. Wanting to be her. Made no sense for the crime they wanted to frame her for.
Also Shay was ridiculously stupid to not pick up on random things sooner.
This has left me nervous to pick up their other books. Which I already own.
