Holy heart wrenching! This book...
This book is intense, the subject matter is heavy, but it’s dealt with in an appropriate way, I feel.
Liam is a great character. I love him, even if I feel he’s a tad bit too perfect, yes it is a thing, lol.
Bea just tears my heart out. I felt for her and everything she went through.
Having said that, I did feel part one was a little slow. The flashbacks were too long for me and didn’t tell me what I wanted to know. I also felt the current sections weren’t long enough.
Conversely, I felt the end, from about 70% (the book ends at 90%), is rushed.
I don’t understand why Myrah was the first one to reach out either, especially as Liam was so set on getting to the bottom of what’s going on. Why did it take Liam coming back to get her to act?
I also felt the Melody introduction and befriending is a bit of a stretch. I feel like it would be better if it happened after a few days together.
In addition to that Bea’s reaction to Melody and Myrah is a bit strange.
But, I still really enjoyed this book, heart wrenching as it is. I would also advise if you have sexual assault or suicide triggers, please proceed with caution. I haven’t seen trigger warnings for the promo of this book (there is one at the start of the book itself however, even though sometimes stuff like that is skipped when you open the file on Kindle) and there really needs to be.
So, if you enjoy your heart being twisted in your chest, give it a go! Lol!
