Who doesn't love a small town, cowboy on his ranch romance? I certainly do. This is another winner for me. I love the small town, grumpy and overprotective cowboy who has a ranch and falls for the good girl. What I really liked about this was the chronic illness representation from our FMC. I didn't care for the fact that the MMC was basically a widow, as I'm not really a fan of this trope, but I still think this book was really good and worth a read if you're a fan of Elsie Silver, Lyla Sage and others who specialize in cowboy romances. I think maybe there were a few things missing, like more angst and a bit more chemistry between Charlie and Ruby, but it was a nice and fun read with a lot to like. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the series and seeing how it goes for the stories with the other brothers.
