In this thoroughly researched book, Mr. Chemerinsky gives amazing insight into the Supreme Court and how centuries of legal interpretation have led to the current "lay of the legal landscape". This book has a great flow and overall has an underlying theme, in my opinion, that there is a need for systemic change in the judicial and legislative branches. This comes, as the author illustrates in various case law examples, in how current law can be tweaked to better serve the many.
As the impact of the court is being felt more directly in our every day lives, this is an important read to understand the history of the court and get a true sense for how things tend to play out .
