lenny3 's review for:
Eleanor & Park
by Rainbow Rowell
So, I am not going to give this a rating - mostly because I just do not know how at this point.
On the one hand, this is probably the best book by Rainbow Rowell that I have read. I did find it engaging, and overall I enjoyed the storyline, pacing and plot point. I liked their relationship, the family dynamics (well, Parks) and the awkward slow-burn / teen angstiness of the two of them.
What I did not enjoy however, was the (both overt and systemic) racism. The girl hate. The slut shaming. And all the other problematic points within this book.
