Glass Houses
by Louise Penny
Wow. Just wow. I swear Louise Penny can do no wrong. As always, the writing is spot on and I was addicted to this book. The story being told between present and past was perfectly done. The action level is perfect. By the end of the book I was in tears. The feelings here are deep at the end and it makes me love this series even more.
But what does it for me every time is the characters. Over 13 novels, the characters have evolved in wonderful ways. Gamache is in the trenches and you can see how that changes a person-- even an old soul like him. Beauvoir is happy and it shows in his inner thoughts that just to be dark. Ruth... oh Ruth. I love Ruth so, so much. The love she shows, in her unconventional way, moves me more and more every book.
I will now go anxiously wait for book fourteen to be released...
