Capturing the Devil by Kerri Maniscalco
5.0

A fantastic end to an amazing series!
I was hooked from page 1 of book 1 and I couldn’t get enough Audrey Rose and Thomas. Audrey Rose is the strong female character we should all strive to be like.
A woman living in the 1880s should be obedient according to polite society. But Audrey Rose has no intention of doing what society says. She intends to live her life the way she wants, investigating forensic evidence with Thomas Cresswell by her side.
With the Ripper investigation at an end, Audrey Rose and Thomas are in New York to investigate a crime strikingly similar to those of the Ripper murders. But that can’t be the case ... the Ripper is dead. Or is he? Audrey Rose and Thomas are set to embark on another adventure in New York and later Chicago that will take them closer to danger with every step.

There was only one thing that bothered me about this book. There was a plot twist (don’t worry, I won’t mention it) that I thought was totally unnecessary to the story. Yes, it added a bit of flavor for a short period of time but I don’t think it added to the overall story.
Other than that I absolutely loved this book! I’m a little sad to see the story end but I am happy everything wrapped up the way it did.
I really can’t wait to see what Maniscalco does in the future!
