4.5/5: i really really enjoyed this and the audiobook narrator was so good like there is a lot of yelling in the first half from a certain character so if you're sensitive to that maybe don't listen to it on audiobook because it was intense in a captivating way. i was very into the story and listened to the last 65% in one evening because of how good it was. the only thing i didn't like as much was the writing and i dont know why but along with the last book i've finished i find myself absolutely sick of metaphors. not everything needs a metaphor and especially with some of the metaphors the author used which were just outdated, gross, and unnecessary (ex: "colder than an Inuit's titty" and something about a "bipolar madman")
