I see why it’s a classic now. Very scary and shocking. I was about two thirds through the book thinking “This is pretty scary, how they brainwash people and watch your every movement.” but then I finished it and was like “You thought that was scary? It’s a fluffy romance in comparison with this.” This book is a warning. I’m sure that it would be near impossible to suppress certain basic human instincts the way that is done in this book, but the ability to control emotions? And convince yourself of things that aren’t true? Shivers It’s a warning to not give up your freedom, to allow your mind to wander and consider things logically, not just out of pure belief. My favorite part was definitely Goldstein’s book, it was just so interesting to learn how the world was and why it came to be that way, although it was dense.
