This book was almost exactly what I expected it to be. Fairly dull but with a few redeeming moments. Jo was absolutely the standout character, but I hate the way her story ended. I loved Laurie and Beth, and feel indifferent about Meg and Amy. One thing I didn't expect was just how strong the religious undertones would be in this book, but given the time that it was written I suppose that makes sense.

Overall I probably would have put this down and not finished this book if we weren't doing a video over it. I am still looking forward to seeing the movie though!
