I absolutely love finding new-to-me authors, especially when they come recommended by a trusted book blogger! I'm thrilled that Sara @ Novel Novice virtually connected me with Inara Scott!
The first book in a new series of interconnected romances, Heartbreaker is an adorable contemporary romance that gave me all the feels.
At present, I am a romantic comedy junkie -- I can't get enough of it! This book has all the things I love: a fun meet-cute, lovable characters, and loads of laughs.
The premise is really fun! We've got a bad boy with a soft heart and a fish out of water, both hiding behind their own walls till a 200-pound invalid Mastiff helps to bring them down by bringing the two together. The power of the pup, y'all...it's real!
So, let's talk about Mason and Tess BECAUSE I ADORE THEM!!! Mason is sexy and massively successful and he knows it, but as much as he comes across cocky and self-assured, he cares more than most realize and absolutely has insecurities. Tess wasn't dealt an easy hand in life. She has made mistakes and faced heartache. She has worked hard, though, to build a life of her own -- a good life -- and doesn't want to risk any of it for the guy who hired her to dog-sit his sister's giant, untrained dog. Mason and Tess have undeniable chemistry and I could not get enough of their push and pull!
Overall, I really enjoyed Heartbreaker and would recommend it to fellow rom com lovers! I'm excited to see more of the Bad Angels series down the road.
*Thanks to the author for providing me with an advanced copy of this book. Please note that it, in no way, had an effect on my opinion or review.
