Woop woop! I'm finally done!
It was really slow, things only started happening near the end of the book and I'm happy that they achieved their goal too at the end, I was afraid that I wouldn't get that satisfactory ending. But I reckon there's still more to the story and why the Lord Ruler was... whatever he was, so I'll be tuning in for the second book!
