The Duke and I
by Julia Quinn
Daphne has been out on the marriage market for two seasons and has not secured a marriage. Everyone doesn’t think of her as a love interest, but as just a friend. The Duke of Hastings is back after traveling for about five years and his horrible father has passed away. He doesn’t want to be attending social balls, but ends up going. The mama’s want the Duke and their daughters to be a pairing. So, The Duke and Daphne decide to make a ruse. They will fake court to get Daphne more suitors so she can find a love match and then the mama’s can get off the Duke’s back. Will it work? Will sparks fly?
So, I’ve watched Bridgerton and loved it. I just had to read the novels since I loved the show so much. I went to Walmart and used some Christmas money and snagged this book. It’s definitely different from the show and less drama, but I highly enjoyed it. I loved Daphne and the Duke so much. I cannot wait to read more of the novels.
