This is an odd book.
Maybe it would have worked better if it had been about 10 year olds.

"Leo, you can be a real jerk sometimes."
Forget about sometimes, I felt like this throughout the whole book. And unfortunately, Leo is the narrator of this story.
I'm still quite amazed by how Spinelli created such a flat, dull, uninteresting character. By the end of the book, you know that Leo 1. likes porcupine neckties. 2. likes strawberry banana smoothies. 3. has a birthday in summer.

I suppose the title of the book is fitting. This is a story utterly and completely about Stargirl, and nothing else. Some parts of the story were good, others bad.
In the end, I was glad that the book was so short.
Will I go on to read the sequel? I'm really not sure.
