Let Me Love You by Kelsie Rae
4.0

In this sequel, we follow all our previous couples: Ash and Colt, Theo and Blake, Mack and Kate, and we also get more of Mia’s story that sets the scene for Don’t Let Me Down just like all of the previous books in this standalone series have done. I will say when I first read the chapters list, I was slightly intimidated by the amount of perspectives we would be reading through but, yet again, Kelsie Rae pulled this off so effortlessly. It was a seamless transition between characters without a gap between perspectives and I loved that we got to see where everyone is at and a continuation of their stories. It felt like one long epilogue for the previous books and I thought this was amazing. Colt and Ash are faced with a huge life choice that threatens the perfect life they have created for themselves and honestly is an issue that, in this day and age, is very prevalent. I kind of thought this was weird and didn’t need to be done, but I love the way it all ended up for them. We follow Blake as she is the only remaining member of the group still left in her last year of college as everyone else has already graduated, and see how her relationship with Theo is progressing. We get to see what life is like for Mack and Kate (my favorite couple of this series) and what the future holds for them as they navigate her illness and their growing family. We learn more about Mia’s struggles after the aftermath of Shorty’s awful choice to out her real identity tied to her OnlyFans account. This seems to be another prevalent topic that many people are struggling with post pandemic as they try to return to the mainstream workforce. In the end, we get a glimpse into everyone’s future (including a little of Mia) which is the closure so many of us crave with interconnected stand-alone novels. The family trees at the end are such a fun and unique addition too! I can’t wait for Mia’s story in Don’t Let Me Down!
